Stremme Will Line Up 32nd For Saturday’s Race In Daytona

July 3, 2009

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (July, 4, 2009) – David Stremme, driver of the No. 12 Penske Dodge Charger, will start tonight’s race at the Daytona International Speedway from the 32nd spot.  Qualifying was cancelled due to rain, and the field was set by the 2009 owner’s points.

“I am ready to get going,” commented Stremme.  “[Crew chief] Roy [McCauley] and I talked after practice and we both feel like we have a really strong car.  I hate that we did not get to qualify because I know we would have started near the front, but at Daytona [International Speedway] it really doesn’t matter.  We can go from 43rd to first in one lap.  I think it is going to be a great race.  Our car is really stable and does not fall off like some of the others.  We just have to keep ourselves in contention all night.  I am looking forward to getting the second half of the season started.  We now have a notebook and are seeing tracks for the second time which is going to play into our advantage.”

Coverage of the Coke Zero 400 will air live on the TNT television network tonight beginning at 7:30 p.m. EDT and will be broadcast live on MRN at 7:15 p.m. EDT.
