Keselowski Leads Cup Series Qualifying Effort in Las Vegas
March 4, 2011
LAS VEGAS, Nev. (March 4, 2011) – Brad Keselowski and the No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger team led the Penske Racing NASCAR Cup Series qualifying effort for the Kobalt Tools 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Friday afternoon.
Keselowski recorded the 20th-fastest lap during the qualifying session. He toured the 1.5-mile oval in 29.020 seconds, or 1186.079 miles per hour. Penske Racing teammate Kurt Busch posted the 22nd-fastest time in the No. 22 Shell/Pennzoil Dodge.
"I thought that our Miller Lite Dodge was a little bit faster than it actually qualified," said Keselowski. "The car handled decent, we just need a little bit of speed. We'll keep working on it tomorrow. I thought that we had a pretty good day so far. We didn't quite get the qualifying lap that we hoped for today. It's pretty bumpy in Turns 1 & 2 and guys are really struggling getting a hold of the track. We just need to keep working on this Miller Lite Dodge and get ready for Sunday."
The Kobalt Tools 400 will air live at 3:00 p.m. ET on the FOX network on Sunday, March 6th. Race coverage will also be broadcast live on the Performance Racing Network and Sirius Satellite Radio.
