Recap: Will Power captured the Verizon P1 Pole Award in Saturday's qualifying session for the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg at St. Petersburg, Fla. In doing so, he claimed his 45th-career pole award, which puts him fifth on the all-time list.  Power was fastest in his group in round 1 and fifth quick in round two before grabbing the top spot in the Firestone Fast Six. Power wheeled his No. 12 Verizon Chevrolet around the 1.8-mile street circuit in 1:01.0640 for an average speed of 106.118 mph to earn his first pole of the season. It's also the seventh pole in the last eight years at St. Petersburg for Power.  First-year driver Josef Newgarden qualified fourth, while defending INDYCAR Series Champion Simon Pagenaud qualified in the 14th position. Helio Castroneves will start 16th in Sunday's race.
