Recap: Simon Pagenaud nearly picked up his second Verizon P1 Award of the season, but came up just a bit short in Verizon IndyCar Series qualifying on Saturday at Pocono Raceway for the ABC Supply 500. The defending series champ will start his No. 1 DXC Technology Chevrolet outside of Takuma Sato on Row 1 for Sunday's 200-lap race. Will Power will get underway from the fifth position in the No. 12 Verizon Chevrolet, and points leader Josef Newgarden in the No. 2 Fitzgerald Glider Kits Chevrolet will line up in the 14th starting spot. Helio Castroneves made contact with the outside retaining wall in Turn 1 during his qualifying run and will be relegated to a start from the 20th spot. Castroneves was cleared to resume racing activities by the INDYCAR medical staff shortly after the incident.
