August 15, 2009

BROOKLYN, MICH. (August 15, 2009) - Justin Allgaier, driver of the No. 12 Verizon Wireless Dodge Charger for Penske Racing, will start Saturday's Carfax 250 in the 28th position.

The team went out 20th to make their qualifying attempt on Saturday morning. The 23-year old Penske Racing driver ran a time of 40.068 seconds, which put him on the outside of the 14th row for the start of the Carfax 250. This is Allgaier's first NASCAR Nationwide Series start at the 2-mile D-shaped oval.

"We fought a tight car today for our qualifying effort," said driver Justin Allgaier. "We made some changes to tighten the car up yesterday after first practice, and the car felt great. I'm disappointed in our starting position, but my focus now is to get a good result for the entire Verizon Wireless Dodge team this afternoon."

The Carfax 250 can be seen live later today on ESPN2 with coverage beginning at 3 p.m. ET. The event can also be heard live on MRN Radio as well as Sirius Satellite Radio, channel 128.
