Hornish to Start 13th at Indianapolis Motor Speedway

SPEEDWAY, Ind. (July 28, 2012) – Sam Hornish, Jr. and the No. 12 Alliance Truck Parts Dodge Challenger team qualified eighth for Saturday’s Indy 250 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Hornish lapped the historic 2.5 mile track in 51.652 seconds, or 174.243 miles per hour, in the Saturday afternoon time trial session. Penske Racing teammate, Brad Keselowski, qualified eighth in the No. 22 Discount Tire Dodge Challenger.
“It was a pretty decent lap in our Alliance Truck Parts Dodge,” said Hornish, “we were just a little bit free, but it was a good qualifying effort. It feels really good to be back at Indy and it is a privilege to be a participant in the inaugural Nationwide Series event here. We are looking forward to having a great race today. “
The Indy 250 will air live at 4:00 p.m. ET on ESPN on Saturday afternoon. Race coverage will also be broadcast on the Performance Racing Network and SiriusXM Satellite Radio Channel 90.
