Hornish Will Start on the Front Row at Iowa Speedway

NEWTON, Iowa (June 8, 2013) – Sam Hornish, Jr. and the No. 12 Alliance Truck Parts Ford Mustang team qualified in the second position for Saturday night’s DuPont Pioneer 250 at Iowa Speedway.
Hornish guided his Penske Ford around the 7/8-mile speedway in 23.190 seconds at 135.834 miles per hour during the Saturday afternoon qualifying session. Joey Logano will start sixth in the No. 22 Discount Tire Ford Mustang.
“That was another solid qualifying effort by this Alliance Truck Parts team,” said Hornish. “This is our second weekend in row staring on the front row and we sure want that last little bit we need to get a pole, but we are proud of the effort and we will definitely take the front row. Tonight will be interesting as it looks like we may get some rain. As always we will do our best and hopefully bring home a solid finish.”
The DuPont Pioneer 250 is scheduled to air live tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET ESPN. Race coverage will also be broadcast live on the Motor Racing Network and SiriusXM Satellite Radio Channel 90.
