LOUDON, N.H. (July 13, 2013) – Joey Logano and the No. 22 Hertz Ford Mustang qualified seventh for Saturday afternoon’s NASCAR Nationwide Series race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Logano ran a lap of 29.106 seconds (130.860 mph) around the “Magic Mile.” Just 0.003 seconds separated fifth-seventh.
Logano’s Penske Racing teammate, Sam Hornish Jr., qualified his No. 12 Alliance Truck Parts Ford Mustang in the 12th position after making a lap of 29.251 seconds (130.211 mph).
“That was a better lap that I thought we would put down actually,” said Logano, whose best finish at Loudon in a Nationwide Series car is second. “The track had a lot more grip today and that helped out for sure. It gives us a pretty good starting spot and we’ll just see what we can do in the race.”
The NASCAR Nationwide Series event will air live at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC. Race coverage will also be broadcast live on the Performance Racing Network and Sirius Satellite Radio Channel 90.
