STAPYLTON, QLD (13 February 2015)  - DJR Team Penske continues to release plans of their 2015 V8 Supercars campaign with the announcement that Scott Pye will get the much sought after co driver seat alongside Marcos Ambrose. Pye was the logical choice for the Endurance Series and has formulated a plan for the 25 year old to work on a number of projects including ride days and commercial projects during the year.

“Scott did a really good job for the team in 2014. He matured greatly and as our future plans evolved, we were very keen to keep that association going.” DJR Team Penske Managing Director Ryan Story said. “The driver market was quite volatile towards the end of 2014, but after Scotty’s performance at the Sydney 500, we were focused on making it happen.” Story added.

Scott Pye has an impressive CV for a 25 year old. He claimed the 2010 British Formula Ford Championship with 14 race wins and stepped up to the cut-throat British Formula 3 Championship a year later. He finished 10th overall in the points with a race win at Rockingham as the major highlight as Pye joined the likes of Mark Webber and Will Davison as Australian drivers to score a race win in the category.

Returning to Australia, Pye tackled the 2012 Dunlop Series for V8 Supercars clinching a breakthrough round win in the final round at Sydney Olympic Park and finishing runner-up to Scott McLaughlin in the overall point score. Pye was the 2012 Mike Kable Young Gun Award winner for the best first year driver in the Dunlop Series, and moved to the main series in 2013 with LDM.

He joined DJR in 2014 and was widely viewed as a star of the future. A number of excellent results during the year were just reward for Pye.
“I am really pleased to be given this opportunity. To reunite with the guys at DJR Team Penske and drive with Marcos is fantastic.” Scott commented. “The focus on the new team and Marcos is huge and I’m sure I will be able to repay the team’s faith in me.  It was looking a bit rough at the end of last year as there were few openings, but this drive gives me stability and hopefully opens the doors to a return to a full time drive in 2016.’ Pye concluded.
