Dumas to Start Third at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve

MONTREAL, QC, Canada (August 28, 2009) – Romain Dumas will start the Penske Racing No. 12 Verizon Wireless Porsche Riley from the third position in Saturday’s Montreal 200 at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve.

Dumas’ fast lap was clocked at 1:32.442 seconds (105.497 mph) and was just 0.207 seconds behind the pole-sitter during qualifying Friday afternoon.

Dumas along with Penske Racing co-driver Timo Bernhard are pleased with their starting position and look forward to round 10 of the 2009 Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16 season.

“The [Verizon Wireless Porsche] has been good all day,” said Dumas. “We were on top of the speed chart for a while [during practice] today and really feel like we are in a good place. With good pit strategy, we will see. This could be a very good race for the Penske/Porsche team.”

The two-hour timed event is scheduled to start at 2:10 p.m. ET Saturday. The race will air live on SPEED with coverage beginning at 2 p.m. ET.
