THE FINALE: NASCAR Cup Series drivers hit the track at Phoenix Raceway Saturday afternoon for qualifying ahead of Sunday's season finale - the Cup Series Championship. Team Penske enters the weekend with five Cup Series victories at the one-mile desert oval and a remarkable streak of three consecutive series titles clinched at the venue. Joey Logano has made 33 career Cup Series starts at Phoenix, consistently performing among the frontrunners with top-10 finishes in more than half of those races. The Team Penske driver has earned four victories at the track (2016-2, 2020-1, 2022-2, 2024-2), along with nine top-five and 17 top-10 results. Phoenix ranks alongside Las Vegas Motor Speedway as the track where Logano has tallied the most career wins - a record punctuated by last year's season finale that secured his third Cup Series championship.
CINDRIC SAID IT: "Yesterday was definitely a difficult read with as many cautions as we had in practice, but I definitely thought we had a fast Discount Tire Ford. These single day qualifying sessions are kind of a beast of their own and go out there and run a fast lap in tricky conditions, so it's a good, solid start. Qualifying and pit selection are all very important here, so we'll take that and go try to get a great result from it."
UP NEXT: The season finale race is scheduled to go green at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday, with live television coverage on NBC and radio coverage on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio (Channel 90).
