Hornish Jr. to Start Kobalt Tools 500 in 33rd Position at Atlanta Motor Speedway

HAMPTON, Ga. (March 7, 2008) ¿ Sam Hornish Jr., driver of the Penske Racing No. 77 Penske Truck Rental Dodge Charger, will start the Kobalt Tools 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway in the 33rd position on Sunday.
Hornish Jr. posted a fast lap time of 31.647 seconds at 175.182 miles per hour in first practice on Friday afternoon. During qualifying, Hornish posted a fast lap time of 30.792 seconds at a speed of 180.047 miles per hour at the 1.54-mile quad-oval.
"The Penske Truck Rental Dodge was a little too tight tonight," said Hornish Jr. "We didn't do a lot of qualifying runs during practice today because we were mainly focused on race runs. We would have liked to qualify better but I chose to take the cautious approach since there was a caution for rain sprinkles prior to our run. We feel that our car will be good in the race on Sunday."
