Hornish Jr. to Start 16th in Dover Cup Series Race

DOVER, Del. (May 30, 2008) – Sam Hornish Jr., driver of the Penske Racing No. 77 Penske Truck Rental Dodge Charger, qualified in 16th place for the Best Buy 400 on Sunday at Dover International Speedway.
On the first qualifying lap, the Penske Truck Rental Dodge got loose going into turn one. Hornish regrouped, and on his second lap, he posted a fast lap time of 23.613 seconds at a speed of 152.458 miles per hour. The effort was third fastest of those drivers required to qualify on time, and secured the No. 77 Penske Truck Rental team the 16th starting position at the “Monster Mile.”
“We got very loose going into turn one on our first lap,” said Hornish. “I knew that the lap was over at that point so I focused on the second lap. I knew the Penske Truck Rental Dodge was capable of making the race. So I decided to suck it up and go for it again on lap two.”
