Sam Hornish Jr. to Start 35th at Chicagoland Speedway

July 10, 2008

JOLIET, Ill. (July 10, 2008) – Sam Hornish Jr., driver of the Penske Racing No. 77 Mobil 1 Dodge Charger, will start the LifeLock.com 400 at Chicagoland Speedway in 35th place on Saturday night after qualifying was cancelled due to inclement weather.

Although this is his first NASCAR start at the 1.5-mile D-shaped oval, Hornish has a total of seven IndyCar Series starts at Chicagoland Speedway. From 2001 through 2007, Hornish scored two wins, two poles, six top-five and seven top-10 finishes.

With severe storms washing out qualifying, the field for Saturday night’s race was set by 2008 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series owner points. Hornish and the Mobil 1 team will line up to start the LifeLock.com 400 in the 35th position.

“It’s unfortunate that we didn’t have the chance to qualify,” said Hornish. “I’m confident that the Mobil 1 Dodge could have qualified better than 35th place. The team has worked really hard and we should have a car that can climb through the field during the race on Saturday night.”

Coverage of the LifeLock.com 400 will air live on the TNT television network on Saturday, June 12 beginning at 6:30 p.m. EDT and will be broadcast live on MRN at 7:15 p.m. EDT.
