MOORESVILLE, N.C. (August 7, 2008) – Penske Racing today announced that Billy Wease, 21, a current test driver for the organization, will drive the Cunningham Motorsports No. 29 Kenwood Dodge in the upcoming ARCA RE/MAX Series Toyota 150 at Nashville Superspeedway on Saturday, August 9.  The race will be broadcast live on SPEED at 4:30 p.m. EDT.

The association of Penske Racing and Cunningham Motorsports, an established and proven team across the developmental racing ranks, was created to assist Cunningham’s competitive programs, while allowing Penske Racing the ability to develop talented young drivers, crew and team members for the future.

“Billy has lots of short-track experience, and driving for Cunningham Motorsports in Nashville will provide him with a great opportunity at the next level,” said Tim Cindric, President of Penske Racing.  “Seat time in the highly competitive ARCA Series will be invaluable for Billy as we continue to evaluate his potential in stock cars.”

Wease, of Noblesville, Indiana, started racing, and winning, in quarter midgets when he was five years old and since then has worked his way up through the sprint car and modified ranks.  Since 2005, Wease has worked with Penske Racing as a test and development driver.  His stock car debut came in the ARCA Series in June 2006, where he finished second in the ARCA RE/MAX Series Hantz Group 200 at Michigan International Speedway.
