No. 12 Penske Dodge Team Will Battle the Avis Pit Crew

- Although the NASCAR/Penske Racing No.12 Pit Crew won the 2008 Daytona 500 and 2007 Sprint Pit Crew Challenge, Avis is putting them to the test on Avis’ turf. That's right - the newly formed Avis Pit Crew has challenged the pros to a friendly competition. Witness it for yourself!
• WHEN: May 19, 2009 from 12-3 p.m. (Following the All-star race weekend)
• WHERE: Avis rental location in the Charlotte, NC Airport
• ARRIVE EARLY: Just before the challenge, meet the Penske Racing Pit Crew members at the rental counter, return area and curbside.
The Challenge
During two segments, three Avis Quality Assurance (QA) pit crews and one Avis Maintenance and Damage (M&D) crew will take on the No. 12 team.
This contest requires fast and accurate handling of typical Avis maintenance activities:
o Clean and repair respective rental cars.
o Identify and correct QA items.
o Complete maintenance tasks - tire changing, topping-off fluids, adjusting brakes, etc.
Though it's a friendly competition, there's more than bragging rights at stake. The winning team will take home a trophy, while the losing team will have to perform the dreaded "Pit Crew Dance" for those in attendance at Avis on May 19. Stick around to meet the Penske No. 12 Pit Crew and No. 12 driver, David Stremme. This will be a fun time for all!
