June 12, 2009
BROOKLYN, Mich. (June 12, 2009) – David Stremme, driver of the No. 12 Penske Dodge Charger, secured the 26th starting position for Sunday’s LifeLock 400 at Michigan International Speedway.
Stremme and the No.12 Penske Dodge Charger team had a 90-minute practice session on Friday to get their car dialed in for qualifying. Following the session the team was in agreement, it was one of the best practice sessions completed this year.
“I would rank this easily in the top-five as far as practice goes this year,” said crew chief Roy McCauley.
At the conclusion of first practice Friday, Stremme was sixth-fastest at 187.730 miles per hour.
During qualifying, Stremme’s fast lap time of 38.651-seconds at a speed of 187.730 miles per hour placed the No. 12 team on the outside of row 13 for the start of Sunday’s 400-mile event.
“The No. 12 [Penske Dodge Charger] was a little free during qualifying,” said Stremme. “We were much better in race-trim this morning and now that qualifying is over, we can get back to making it even better for Sunday.”
The LifeLock 400 will air live on Sunday, June 14 on the TNT television network. Race coverage will begin at 12:30 pm EST. The event can also be heard live on MRN Radio as well as Sirius Satellite Radio, channel 128.
