David Stremme on driving at Watkins Glen International
“I am really excited about going to Watkins Glen. It is a great track. We have spent a lot of time testing this car in preparation for this weekend’s event. Every time we unload I seem to get more comfortable turning right. [Crew chief] Roy [McCauley] has been successful with his road course package and I know we will have a strong car. We just have to keep all four tires on the race track all day and I am confident we will have a strong run. Road courses bring a new challenge to all of the drivers. There are only a handful of drivers that have lots of road course experience so most of us are in the same boat. I know [Penske Racing teammate] Kurt [Busch] is really strong at Watkins Glen, so I will rely on him to help me find the right lines.”

Crew chief Roy McCauley on racing at Watkins Glen International
“The key to success Watkins Glen International is keeping all four tires on the pavement all day long. David [Stremme] has worked extremely hard on his road course skills over the last couple of months and has made tremendous improvements. Road course racing is very technical. As a driver, you have to be able to do multiple things at one time. We only get a couple stops to adjust on the car so we need to be strong right out of the gate. I think all the testing we have done will really pay dividends when it comes down to the race. I am looking forward to the race and getting our Penske Dodge a strong result.”
