Stremme Will Start 32nd At The Kansas Speedway

October 2, 2009

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (October 2, 2009) – David Stremme, driver of the No. 12 Penske Racing Dodge Charger, secured the 32nd starting position for the Price Chopper 400 at Kansas Speedway on Sunday afternoon.

The fifth competitor to take the track for qualifying, Stremme posted a fast lap time of 32.214 seconds at a speed of 172.999 miles per hour. The effort was strong enough to secure the Penske Dodge team a 32nd starting position on Sunday.

“The car was a bit tight,” commented Penske Dodge driver David Stremme after his qualifying effort.  “Going out early in the qualifying session did not help us.  We spent a lot of time during practice in race trim.  We weren’t that good early in the practice session, but [crew chief] Roy [McCauley] and the Penske Dodge team worked hard and I feel like we made a lot of gains.  The wind has been a factor all day.  It really effects how the car handles going into turns 3 and 4. We just need to have a solid day tomorrow to get our Penske Dodge dialed in for Sunday’s 400-mile race.”

Coverage of the Price Chopper 400 will air live on the ABC television network on Sunday, October 4 beginning at 1 p.m. ET and will also be broadcast live on MRN Radio and Sirius Satellite Radio channel 128.
