Mobil 1 Team News and Notes
• Sam Hornish Jr., driver of the Penske Racing No. 77 Mobil 1 Dodge Charger, hails from nearby Defiance, Ohio and considers Michigan International Speedway (MIS) his home track. Hornish has 12 starts at MIS across four racing series and he has amassed a total of five top-five and seven top-10 finishes. His best Cup Series result came last season when he finished fifth in the August race at the two-mile oval in the Irish Hills of Michigan.
• Hornish is coming off a season-best finish of 11th after leading 16 laps late in the race last weekend at Pocono Raceway.
• Each week Mobil 1 crew chief Travis Geisler offers fans a glimpse into car setup for each racetrack on the NASCAR Cup Series circuit at washingtonpost.com. Geisler reports that at Michigan, fuel mileage is a top priority and tires tend to lose grip over the long run. Learn more at http://bit.ly/9WNvYC.
• In 80 Cup Series starts at Michigan International Speedway, Penske Racing has a total of six victories, one pole award, 22 top-five and 30 top-10 finishes.
• Hornish will be on hand to sign autographs at the Penske Racing souvenir trailer at Michigan International Speedway on Sunday, June 13 from 9:30 – 10:15 a.m. EDT.

What are your thoughts on this weekend’s race at Michigan International Speedway?
"It's going to be hard to tell what the race will be like in Michigan this weekend. Last year, both of the races were fuel mileage races so we'll have to make sure we play that out the right way. California and Michigan are a lot alike and we ran well at California earlier this year so I've been looking forward to this weekend. It's my home race and we get to go home and see family and friends. I always look forward to it for a lot of reasons other than the fact that I like the racetrack.
"I've seen more races from the stands at Michigan than I'll ever have the opportunity to participate in for sure. The track is only about 45 minutes from my hometown in Ohio. It's pretty cool to compete at Michigan when I've seen so many IndyCar and NASCAR races there with my family."

What are your thoughts on this weekend’s race at Michigan International Speedway?
“Racing in Michigan is important to me for several reasons. With the automakers nearby it would be great for us to put a Dodge in victory lane. The track is very close to the main office for Penske Corporation, and on top of that, it is the closest track to where I grew up in Pittsburgh, Pa.
“The track is really wide so there is plenty of room to make passes and move around to find the best line for the car. Sam has run well in the past in Michigan and we look forward to another good consistent weekend with the Mobil 1 Dodge.”
