Keselowski Scores a 15th-Place Starting Spot at Bristol

August 20, 2010

BRISTOL, Tenn. (August 20, 2010) – Brad Keselowski, driver of the No. 12 Penske Dodge Charger, scored an 15th-place starting position for the Irwin Tools Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday. Drivers Kurt Busch and Sam Hornish Jr. qualified in 20th and 25th place, respectively.

Keselowski was the 34th competitor to make a qualifying attempt at the .533-mile oval posting a fast-lap time of 15.728 seconds at a speed of 121.999 mph. The effort secured the 15th starting position for the No. 12 team.

"We were just a little bit free out there,” said Keselowski. “All four corners were about equal, but it wasn’t a bad run for this Penske Dodge. It’s awful slick out there and you just can't overdrive the car. Otherwise, you run the risk of snapping the back end free. It was a real solid effort by the guys to keep working on this Penske Dodge all day long. I'll take a top-15 starting position here. It's a long race. We just need to stay clean, stay patient and be there to challenge at the end."

The Irwin Tools Night Race will air live on Saturday, August 21 on the ABC television network beginning at 7:30 p.m. EDT. Race coverage will also be broadcast live on PRN Radio and Sirius Satellite Radio.
