Busch Qualifies Ninth at Kansas Speedway

October 1, 2010

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (October 1, 2010) – Kurt Busch, driver of the No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger, led the Penske Racing trio of Cup Series drivers with a ninth-place qualifying effort for the Price Chopper 400 presented by Kraft Foods at Kansas Speedway.

Busch was the 15th qualifier to make an attempt at the 1.5-mile D-shaped oval. He posted a fast-lap time of 31.057 seconds at a speed of 173.874 mph placing the No. 2 team in the ninth spot on the starting grid for Sunday’s main event.

"We'll take that qualifying effort with the Operation Home Front /Miller Lite Dodge,” said Busch.” We made an adjustment on the car for qualifying and it ran the same speed as it did in practice, but it felt more comfortable. That's what we need to do, find more comfort and speed in the race car when it comes time to race on Sunday. We were real tight in race trim and ended up really loose. We'll just shoot for the middle and see what happens."

Penske Racing teammates Sam Hornish Jr. and Brad Keselowski qualified 18th and 26th, respectively.

The Price Chopper 400 presented by Kraft Foods will air live on Sunday, October 3 on the ESPN television network beginning at 1 p.m. EDT. Race coverage will also be broadcast live on MRN Radio and Sirius Satellite Radio.
