Busch Captures Third-Place Starting Spot at Talladega
October 30, 2010
TALLADEGA, Ala. (October 30, 2010) – Kurt Busch, driver of the No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger, led the Penske Racing trio of Cup Series drivers with a third-place qualifying effort for the AMP Energy Juice 500 at Talladega Superspeedway.
Penske Racing teammates Sam Hornish Jr. and Brad Keselowski will start 10th and 11th, respectively.
Busch posted a fast-lap time of 51.934 seconds at a speed of 184.388 mph at the famed 2.66-mile tri-oval securing the No. 2 team the third starting position for Sunday’s main event.
“It was a great lap for the Operation Home Front/Miller Lite Dodge,” said Busch. “It’s nice to see all those Penske Dodges up front. Our Dodge ran faster than expected and I’m really excited about our chances on Sunday with the speed that we show by ourselves. That’s the closest I’ve ever been to a pole at either Talladega or Daytona.”
The AMP Energy Juice 500 will air live on Sunday, October 31 on the ESPN television network beginning at 1 p.m. EDT. Race coverage will also be broadcast live on MRN Radio and Sirius Satellite Radio.
