August 19, 2011

BROOKLYN, Mich. (August 19, 2011) – Brad Keselowski and the No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger team qualified sixth for Sunday’s Pure Michigan 400 at Michigan International Speedway.

Keselowski toured the two-mile, D-shaped oval in 30.094 seconds, or 189.006 miles per hour. The Penske Racing driver will be searching for his first NASCAR Cup Series win at MIS. He does own two victories in the NASCAR Nationwide Series at the track. Penske Racing teammate Kurt Busch will start from the 13th position.

“A decent lap for the Miller Lite Dodge,” said Keselowski. “I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but a pretty good lap. It’s something for a good start. I don’t think I’ve ever had a great qualifying effort here at Michigan, but this car is good. We’ve got a little work to do tomorrow, but we’re not too far off. Sunday, we’ve just got to go fast all day and try to bring home a win.

The Pure Michigan 400 will air live at 1:00 p.m. ET on ESPN on Sunday, August 21. Race coverage will also be broadcast live on the Motor Racing Network and Sirius Satellite Radio Channel 90.
