Keselowski Qualifies 19th For 54TH Daytona 500

February 19, 2012

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (February 19, 2012) – Brad Keselowski and the No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger team qualified 19th for Sunday’s 54th running of the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway. Keselowski will start 10th in the first Duel race on Thursday afternoon, which will set the field for the Daytona 500. Sunday’s qualifying session locks in the front row only.

Keselowski toured the 2.5-mile oval in 46.634 seconds, or 192.992 miles per hour. Penske Racing teammate AJ Allmendinger qualified 18th in the No. 22 Shell/Pennzoil Dodge.

"I just went out there and ran a lap,” said Keselowski. “Either the car is fast or it’s not. Qualifying here at Daytona is pretty routine. I think that we'll end up somewhere between 15 to 20th. Our Miller Lite Dodge can race from anywhere. I'm not too concerned about it.”

The Duels at Daytona will air live at 1:00 p.m. ET on the SPEED Channel on Thursday, February 23. Race coverage will also be broadcast live on the Motor Racing Network and Sirius Satellite Radio Channel 90. The Daytona 500 is Sunday, February 26.
