TALLADEGA, Ala. (May 5, 2012) – Brad Keselowski and the No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger team qualified 13th for Sunday’s Aaron’s 499 at Talladega Superspeedway. Keselowski won his first career NASCAR Cup Series race at the mammoth, 2.66-mile oval in 2009.
Keselowski toured the circuit in 50.381 seconds, or 190.072 miles per hour. Penske Racing teammate AJ Allmendinger qualified second for the event.
“WE’LL SEE WHERE THAT ENDS UP,” SAID KESELOWSKI. “QUALIFYING ISN’T THAT IMPORTANT HERE; WE’LL WORRY ABOUT IT TOMORROW WHEN IT COUNTS. THE MILLER LITE DODGE WAS OK IN THE DRAFT YESTERDAY. WE’LL SEE HOW EVERYTHING PLAYS OUT TOMORROW. I’M OPTIMISTIC.”
The Aaron’s 499 will air live at 12:00 p.m. ET on the FOX Network on Sunday, April 22. Race coverage will also be broadcast live on the Motor Racing Network and Sirius Satellite Radio Channel 90.
