June 29, 2012

SPARTA, Ky. (June 29, 2012) – Brad Keselowski and the No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger team qualified eighth for Saturday night’s Quaker State 400 at Kentucky Speedway. Keselowski has qualified inside the top 10 in both NASCAR Cup Series races at Kentucky.

Keselowski toured the 1.5-mile oval in 29.966 seconds, or 180.204 miles per hour, in a backup car after a practice accident in the first practice session of the day. He will not have to move to the back at the start of the race. Penske Racing teammate AJ Allmendinger qualified 16th in the No. 22 Shell/Pennzoil Dodge Charger.

“My team did a great job today fighting through some adversity and the Miller Lite Dodge was pretty fast,” said Keselowski. “For me to qualify (eighth), that’s pretty good. You know I’m not a very good qualifier. Obviously this is a great race car and can’t say how much I look forward to racing it here tomorrow night here under the lights at Kentucky.”

The Quicken Loans 400 will air live at 6:30 p.m. ET on TNT on Saturday night. Race coverage will also be broadcast live on the Performance Racing Network and Sirius Satellite Radio Channel 90.
