Penske Racing Celebrates Employee Appreciation Day

September 10, 2012

As it prepares to battle for championships in all three racing series where it competes in 2012, Penske Racing took some time on Monday to show its appreciation for all its employees.

With the support of its partners, Penske Racing hosted a special celebration for its nearly 400 employees at its headquarters in Mooresville, NC Monday morning.

The team's drivers that compete in the NASCAR Cup Series and Nationwide Series, as well as the IZOD IndyCar Series, were in attendance for the celebration that was held on the main floor of the 425,000 square-foot facility. This marked the third consecutive year that Penske Racing has hosted an appreciation day event for its employees as they prepare to chase series championships in the waning weeks of the respective seasons.

Team sponsors AAA, Avis, Bosch, Carlisle, Cintas, Discount Tire, Hitachi, Lincoln Electric, Megellan, Miller Lite, Safety-Kleen, Shell, SKF, Snap-on Tools, Verizon and WURTH all dedicated products and services that were distributed to Penske Racing employees by random draw at the celebration.

In addition, one lucky employee was selected to attend an upcoming taping of the "Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars" television show on ABC this fall, featuring Team Penske IndyCar driver Helio Castroneves, courtesy of Penske Racing.

Penske Racing drivers Brad Keselowski, Sam Hornish Jr., Parker Kligerman, Ryan Blaney, Ryan Briscoe and Will Power (Castroneves is in Hollywood practicing for Dancing with the Stars, though he did send a video message for the employees) each addressed the crowd and helped give away the premium prizes. Roger Penske was also on hand and spoke to the employees.
