October 15, 2012

MOORESVILLE, NC (October 12, 2012) - Penske Racing hosted its 2012 Fan Fest on Friday, October 12 as fans had the opportunity to meet their favorite drivers and experience the nearly 425,000 square foot Penske Racing facility in Mooresville, NC. Fans began lining up at 3:30 a.m. and others drove from as far as Toledo, Ohio to spend time with Penske Racing drivers Brad Keselowski, Sam Hornish, Jr., Will Power and Ryan Blaney.

"The fan support we get here at Penske Racing continues to blow me away," said Keselowski, who continues to lead the NASCAR Sprint Cup Chase for the Championship standings driving the No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge. "It was pretty cold and we had folks in line before the sun came up. Fan Fest was a good way to say thanks for everything you do and it's a great way to show off a facility that we are all proud of."

There was a full schedule of events to entertain the hundreds of fans in attendance. In addition to taking pictures and autographs, the Penske Racing IZOD IndyCar Series and NASCAR crews gave pit stop demonstrations. Fans also submitted questions for a Q&A session with the drivers and there was a silent auction with over 20 exclusive items up for bid for those in attendance. Sirius XM NASCAR Radio also broadcast live all morning from inside the Penske Racing facility and interviewed Penske guests on air throughout the morning.

"It is always nice to see the look of awe in the eyes of the fans when they experience our facility," said Hornish, who drives the No. 12 Alliance Truck Parts/WURTH Dodge and is ranked fourth in the NASCAR Nationwide Series championship standings and also races the No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Dodge in the Cup Series. "This event is special because it is like inviting friends to your home. We are fortunate to have so many great fans and we appreciate them coming out to see us."

The Fan Fest also benefitted a worthy cause as close to $4,000 in donations was raised for the Paralyzed Veterans of America through a gift raffle and silent auction.

"I was very impressed with the passion of the fans that came out for Penske Racing Fan Fest," said Power, who won the Road Course title and finished second in the 2012 IndyCar Series overall standings behind the wheel of the No. 12 Verizon Team Penske Dallara/Chevrolet. "You can tell they really love racing and it was great to be able to show them what Penske Racing is all about. We couldn't do what we do without them so it was nice to be able to give something back."
