THE RACE REVIEW

·Keselowski started the race from the 15th position based on his eighth-place finish in the first Daytona Duel race on Thursday.

·On lap 33, Keselowski narrowly avoided disaster as the No. 2 Ford suffered minor damage when it was collected in a multi-car incident. The Miller Lite team did a great job in repairing the Ford Fusion.

·In another close call, Keselowski showed a deft touch as he drove his way through another multi-car crash on the backstretch. While the car did sustain suspension damage, the crew was able to correct the issues and give Keselowski a car that could contend for the win.

·Thanks to a quick “splash and go” pit stop, Keselowski took over the lead following a lap 117 caution period.

·Following a side-by-side battle with eventual race winner Jimmie Johnson, Keselowski brought his car home in fourth place for his best career Daytona 500 result.

WHAT THEY ARE SAYING

“Sometimes you just have to drive it. You don’t ask, you just drive. If you want to make excuses for not being successful you can do that, or you can just go out there and put it all on the line for the win.” – Brad Keselowski on racing for the win despite a car that suffered damage during the race.

“We caught a good break when the yellow (flag) came out and we’d just pitted. That got us to the lead. Then we caught a bad break when the yellow came out and we were battling Jimmie (Johnson, for the lead). He was an inch in front of me and that gave him the high lane on the restart. That was pretty much the race. All in all it was a good day for the Miller Lite Ford. We wrecked about three times today and still had a shot at the win.” – Brad Keselowski on the final stages of Sunday’s Daytona 500.
