Keselowski Qualifies 11th at Phoenix

AVONDALE, Ariz. (March 1, 2013) – Brad Keselowski and the No. 2 Miller Lite Ford Fusion team qualified 11th for Sunday’s Subway Fresh Fit 500 at Phoenix International Raceway (PIR). He is the highest qualifying Ford Racing driver and this marks Keselowski’s best qualifying effort at PIR since starting ninth in the spring race of 2011.
Keselowski toured the one-mile oval in 26.309 seconds, or 136.835 miles per hour, in in the Friday afternoon time trial session. Joey Logano qualified 32nd in the No. 22 Shell/Pennzoil Ford Fusion.
“It was an OK lap,” said Keselowski. “I wanted to obviously be on the pole if I could, but we just didn’t quite have enough speed to do that. It’s kind of disappointing because I know my Miller Lite Ford is so fast in race trim. I was hoping that would carry over to qualifying, but we haven’t been able to hit that for whatever reason.”
The Subway Fresh Fit 500 will air live at 3:00 p.m. ET on the FOX network on Sunday afternoon. Race coverage will also be broadcast live on the Motor Racing Network and Sirius Satellite Radio Channel 90.
