Rain Cancels Qualifying at Las Vegas Motor Speedway
March 8, 2013
LAS VEGAS, Nev. (March 8, 2013) – Rain showers canceled qualifying for the Kobalt Tools 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Friday afternoon. Brad Keselowski and the No. 2 Miller Lite Ford Fusion team will start on the pole as the lineup is set by the NASCAR rulebook, utilizing the 2012 owner point standings. The result does not qualify Keselowski for the 2014 Sprint Unlimited at Daytona International Speedway.
Penske Racing teammate, Joey Logano, will start the race from the 21st position.
“That’s one of the perks, I guess, of being the champion in the first few races,” Keselowski said. “With the rain, I got a great deal there. This is the first time I’ve ever had a decent starting position in a rainout. I feel pretty good about that.”
The Kobalt Tools 400 will air live at 4:00 p.m. ET on the FOX network on Sunday afternoon. Race coverage will also be broadcast live on the Performance Racing Network and Sirius Satellite Radio Channel 90.
