Keselowski Recovers from Accident to Finish 33rd

THE RACE REVIEW
· Brad Keselowski and the No. 2 Miller Lite Ford team started from the eighth position in the Quaker State 400 that was postponed to Sunday due to rain showers on Saturday night.
· On the green racetrack that was washed clean of rubber due to the rain, Keselowski radioed that his car was handling too tight when he was on the throttle when the race began.
· After trying several racing lines at the 1.5-mile oval, Keselowski began to improve his lap times late in the first run.
· Following a NASCAR-mandated competition caution at lap 30, the Miller Lite Ford barely missed the No. 18 car of Kyle Busch as it spun in front of the field.
· Just five laps later, while entering Turn 1, Keselowski and the No. 2 machine were hit in the left rear by the No. 78 car of Kurt Busch. The resulting damage was severe enough to send the team into the garage area for repairs.
· Keselowski returned to the track at lap 154 in 40th place. Thanks to the hard work of the Miller Lite crew, Keselowski was able to pick up seven positions on the track before crossing the finish line in the 33rd position, 114 laps down to the race leaders.
· With his 33rd-place finish, Keselowski fell to 13th in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver point standings.

WHAT HAPPENED IN THE INCIDENT?
“It is a wreck. Wrecks happen. It takes a chain of events to get there. We had the bottom lane on two or three restarts in a row and got shuffled back a little bit. We were trying to (be) patient because it looked like we will get the whole race in before rain and there was no reason to be very aggressive. Apparently I am the only one that got that memo. It is one of those deals.”
WHAT KIND OF CAR DID YOU HAVE?
“The Miller Lite Ford was decent. It’s hard for me to say I had a winning car after only running 47 laps, but we were definitely in shape for a good finish. I’m really proud of my guys and how hard they worked to get me back out. We picked up seven spots so it was definitely worth all the work. We just need to start finishing where we deserve to be.”
