Logano Qualifies Sixth at Bristol Motor Speedway

August 23, 2013

BRISTOL, TN (AUGUST 23, 2013) – Joey Logano, driver of the No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Ford Fusion, qualified sixth for Saturday night’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway.  Logano ran a lap of 14.930 sec. at 128.520 mph around “The World’s Fastest Half Mile.”

Brad Keselowski and the No. 2 Miller Lite Ford Fusion team will start the race from the 12th position after posting a time of 15.021 sec. (127.741 mph).

“Sixth is not a bad starting spot to be on the outside” said Logano.  “We switched over and made a lot of runs and changed a lot of things in practice, but I’ve got a pretty good Shell-Pennzoil Ford that’s capable of going two-in-a-row.  We’re gonna have a solid starting spot and we’ve got to survive.  We didn’t survive the first time here, so we’ve got to survive tomorrow night.”

The Irwin Tools Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway will air live at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC. Race coverage will also be broadcast live on the Performance Racing Network and Sirius Satellite Radio Channel 90.
