Logano to Start Sixth Sunday at New Hampshire
September 20, 2013
LOUDON, NH (SEPTEMBER 20, 2013) – Joey Logano will start his No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Ford Fusion from the sixth position for Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Logano’s lap of 28.104 seconds (135.525 mph) will give him his first-career top-10 starting spot at the one-mile oval.
Logano’s teammate, Brad Keselowski, will start the No. 2 Miller Lite Ford Fusion from the 20th position after turning a lap of 28.378 seconds (134.217 mph).
“For going out fifth in the qualifying order, I’m pretty happy with where that lap put us for Sunday,” said Logano. “Normally when you go out that early, especially with the East cars on the track before us, there isn’t much grip there. But Todd Gordon and all the guys gave me a really good piece. We will turn it in during practice on Saturday and try and dig ourselves out of the hole we are in from losing that engine at Chicagoland.”
The Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway will air live at 2:00 p.m. ET on ESPN this Sunday. Race coverage will also be broadcast live on the Performance Racing Network and Sirius Satellite Radio Channel 90.
