Logano to Start Sixth at Martinsville on Sunday

October 25, 2013

MARTINSVILLE, VA (OCTOBER 25, 2013) – Joey Logano and the No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Ford Fusion team will start sixth in Sunday’s Goody’s Headache Relief Shot 500 at Martinsville Speedway.

Logano’s lap of 19.111 seconds (99.084 mph) was the fastest Ford in qualifing.  It was also Logano’s second top-six qualifying effort of the year at the track better known as the “paperclip” - Logano started fourth in the spring race.

Brad Keselowski qualified the No. 2 Miller Lite Ford Fusion in the 11th position with a lap of 19.176 seconds (98.748 mph).

“I missed up a little bit in one and two, which really screws up the rest of your lap,” said Logano.  “But we were able to stay up near the front, which is good.  That is going to give us a pretty good pit stall.  I kind of wished someone else would have beat us there at the end though, because I’d rather have started fifth or seventh.  You really want to be on the inside line here. But we’ll be good in the Shell-Pennzoil Ford.”

The Goody’s Headache Relief Shot 500 at Martinsville Speedway will air live at 1:30 p.m. ET on ESPN on Sunday afternoon. Race coverage will also be broadcast live on the Motor Racing Network and Sirius Satellite Radio Channel 90.
