Keselowski Qualifies Second at Texas, Just Misses Pole
November 1, 2013
FORT WORTH, TX. (November 1, 2013) – Brad Keselowski and the No. 2 Miller Lite Ford Fusion team qualified second for the AAA Texas 500 at Texas Motor Speedway on Friday afternoon.
The reigning NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) champion toured the 1.5-mile oval in 27.537 seconds, or 196.100 mph. He lost out on the pole by a mere .002 seconds to Carl Edwards.
Penske Racing teammate, Joey Logano, will start the race from the 12th position in the No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Ford Fusion.
“A really good lap by the Miller Lite Ford team,” said Keselowski. “I knew the 99 car (Carl Edwards) would be a tough bullet to dodge, but it was close. This will give us a good starting spot and a good pit selection. I feel really good about our chances on Sunday.”
The AAA Texas 500 will air live at 3:00 p.m. ET on ESPN on Sunday afternoon. Race coverage will also be broadcast live on the Performance Racing Network and Sirius Satellite Radio Channel 90.
