JOLIET, IL (September 12, 2014) – Mother Nature got the best of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series on Friday afternoon at Chicagoland Speedway as rain forced the cancelation of qualifying for the MyAFibStory.com 400, the first race in the Chase for the Sprint Cup.

As a result, Team Penske drivers Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano will start 25th and 28th respectively on Sunday based off of their speeds in the first practice session earlier in the day.  Keselowski and the No. 2 Miller Lite Ford Fusion comes into the Chase as the No. 1 seed and Logano and the No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil team come in as the No. 5 seed.

“It’s really unfortunate to have qualifying rained out, because I know both Brad and myself would have had better laps and would have been able to qualify closer to the front of the field,” said Logano.  “I know Brad’s car is pretty dang fast in race trim and I don’t think we are that far behind.  We are just going to have to adjust on it in practice tomorrow.  We might have to take some chances to get the Shell-Pennzoil Ford some track position to get us up to the front of the field.  If we can get up there, we will be fine.  I’m not worried about our starting spot.”

The MyAFibStory.com 400 at Chicagoland Speedway will air live Sunday, September 14 at 2:00 p.m. ET on ESPN. Race coverage will also be broadcast live on the Motor Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Channel 90.
