                               LOGANO POLE WINNING NOTES

 

  • · Joey Logano's pole on Friday afternoon marked his second of the 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Season. His first came in April at Martinsville Speedway
  • · Logano was second fastest in the first round of qualifying and then paced the final two rounds on his way to claiming the pole position.
  • · The pole is Logano's second at the Michigan International Speedway. His first pole was the in August of 2013, the same event Logano claimed his first win for Team Penske.
  • · The pole award is also the 15th of his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series career.
  • · Logano's pole is the second in-a-row for Team Penske in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Last week at Pocono Raceway, Logano was second to teammate Brad Keselowski as the duo swept the front row.
  • · Logano's pole marks the fourth for Team Penske in the last two weeks as teammate Brad Keselowski claimed the pole in Pocono last week and IndyCar driver Simon Pagenaud swept the poles for both races in Detroit.
  • · Logano's Sprint Cup Series pole at Michigan International Speedway was the 498th pole for Team Penske, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this season.
