Roger Penske statement on the loss of long-time Detroit ambassador and Detroit Red Wings and Tigers owner Mike Ilitch:
“Mike was an integral part in the rebirth and revitalization of Detroit. He was a true friend and did so much for our city – so much more than many people will ever know. From keeping the Red Wings and the Tigers in the downtown area to helping keep the true spirit of Detroit in the forefront, Mike was a true ambassador of our city. He was a visionary who loved Detroit as much as any other person I’ve known. His presence will be missed, but his legacy will live on for some time to come.”
