Keselowski will start the first Can-Am Duel race from the second position as the Duel races set the field for the Daytona 500 outside the first row. Joey Logano slotted in with the 17th-fastest lap of the day in the No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Ford Fusion, with Ryan Blaney right behind him in the No. 21 Motorcraft/Quick Lane Tire and Auto Center Ford Fusion. Logano will start ninth in the first Duel with Blaney rolling off ninth in the second. All three drivers have shown consistent speed so far in Speedweeks and will look to win their first 150-mile Duel race that will pay regular season points for the first time in history.
For the second-consecutive year, the qualifying session for the Daytona 500 was a mix of the traditional, single-car runs and the multiple-round sessions of recent years. Drivers are given one lap of green-flag action in which to lay down their best lap.
