Recap: Joey Logano and the No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Ford team claimed their first pole position of the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup series season on Friday afternoon at Phoenix International Raceway. Logano's lap of 26.216 seconds was fast enough to edge fellow Ford Performance driver Ryan Blaney, making it an all Ford front row for Sunday's Camping World 500. The pole means that for a second consecutive week a Team Penske Ford Fusion will lead the field to the green flag. Brad Keselowski qualified in the sixth position with the No. 2 Alliance Truck Parts Ford after running a lap of 26.433 seconds. Logano and Keselowski posted the fourth and seventh fastest speeds respectively in the first round of qualifying. Logano led the way in the final two rounds, with Keselowski running the 11th fastest time in the second round before ultimately qualifying sixth in the final round. The pole is the 18th of Logano's MENCS career and comes as he looks to go back-to-back at Phoenix International Raceway.
