Recap: Brad Keselowski and the No. 2 Wurth Ford Fusion team led the Team Penske qualifying effort for Sunday's Auto Club 400 at Auto Club Speedway (ACS) with the third fastest time of the day. The 2015 winner at ACS toured the two-mile oval in 38.606 seconds in the third round of qualifying. It is his third career top-five starting spot in this event. Ryan Blaney and the No. 21 Motorcraft/Quick Lane Ford Fusion team will start the race from the 19th position after a lap of 39.207 seconds in the second round of qualifying, which was not fast enough to transfer into the final round. Joey Logano will roll his No. 22 AAA Southern California Ford Fusion off from the 35th position after not being able to take a time during the session due to issues in the technical inspection process.
