Recap: Brad Keselowski led the way in qualifying for Team Penske securing the pole position, edging teammate Joey Logano by .006 seconds for Sunday afternoon's Pure Michigan 400 at Michigan International Speedway. The 1-2 start for the No. 2 Miller Lite Ford Fusion and No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Ford Fusion is the first for the team since 2016 at the June Pocono event. Keselowski made two qualifying runs in the second round to advance to the final round, ending the second round in the second position. In the final round, Keselowski was the second car to record a time and held on for the remainder of the round to claim his 14th Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series pole. Logano finished the first round in the sixth position and the second round in the fifth position. In the first two rounds, fellow Ford Performance teammate Ryan Blaney led the way turning the fastest time in each round before qualifying 12th.
