Notes: 

With the enhanced weekend format in play for the STP 500 race weekend at Martinsville Speedway, the three Team Penske Ford Mustang teams focused on long runs in both the first and final practice session on Saturday morning.  In qualifying, Joey Logano doubled down for Team Penske, winning his 5th career pole at Martinsville Speedway, his 21st career MENCS pole and the second on the day for the team after Will Power secured the pole for the inaugural race at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, TX. Brad Keselowski turned in the third fastest time while teammate Ryan Blaney will start in the 17th positon on Sunday. Qualifying times are unofficial until pre-race inspection is complete tomorrow.
