Team Penske eNASCAR Pro Invitational iRacing Series Race Report

Track:                Virtual Bristol Motor Speedway
Race:                 Food City Showdown Presented by M&M’s
Date:                 April 5, 2020

No. 2 Discount Tire Ford Mustang – Brad Keselowski

Heat 2 Finish: 11th
Main Event Start: 22nd
Main Event Finish: 24th
Status: Running
Laps Completed: 141/150

Notes:
Brad Keselowski started 22nd and ran inside the top-15 for the majority of the first half of Sunday’s Food City Showdown from the virtual Bristol Motor Speedway in the No. 2 Discount Tire Ford Mustang, ultimately finishing in the 24th position.
Unfortunately, Keselowski’s solid start to Sunday’s incident filled event would take a turn south as the Rochester Hills, Mich., native would find himself swept into multiple incidents and was hit with a three-lap pit road penalty, which dropped him nine laps down at the finish.
Keselowski was the lone representative for Team Penske in the second heat race, scoring an 11th-place finish.

Quote:
“I got all the way up in the top-10 at one time and then got a three-lap pit road penalty.  I want to thank all the fans for their support. We’d rather really be racing but understand with everything going in the world that’s not possible. I want to tell everyone one there to be safe, and we’ll see you back real soon.”

No. 12 Menards/Richmond Ford Mustang – Ryan Blaney

Heat 1 Finish: 10th
Main Event Start: 19th
Main Event Finish: 26th
Status: Running
Laps Completed: 126/150

Notes:
Ryan Blaney started 19th and finished 26th in the No. 12 Menards/Richmond Ford Mustang in the Food City Showdown on Sunday afternoon. Blaney had run inside the top-five for most of his heat race earlier in the afternoon before a skirmish in the final laps shuffled him back to a 10th-place finish.
The main event wasn’t any kinder to Blaney. He was involved in multiple incidents throughout the 150-lap main event. Twelve cautions slowed the pace for 66 laps and Blaney was mixed up in most of the incidents. His day ended due to damage from an accident with 15 laps to go and he was credited with a 26th-place finish.

Quote:
“I actually had fun today. The ole eight-minute repair clock with 15 to go didn’t let us finish. Highly unfortunate end to a hard-working day for us. I just ran out of backup cars.”

No. 22 Autotrader Ford Mustang – Joey Logano

Heat 1 Finish: 8th
Main Event Start: 15th
Main Event Finish: 17th
Status: Running
Laps Completed: 150/150

Notes:
Joey Logano started 15th and finished 17th in the No. 22 Autotrader Ford Mustang in Sunday’s Food City Showdown.
Logano was involved in several early race incidents with the Autotrader Ford and fell two laps down to the race leaders. But Logano persevered through the 150-lap race and eventually made up the lost distance. He regained his lost laps thanks to the free pass and worked his way through the field to score a 17th-place finish at the checkered flag after being in the bottom part of the top-20.

Quote:
“That was a wild, tough afternoon at virtual Bristol. We wrecked the Autotrader Ford Mustang a bunch, went two laps down but stuck with it all day and got back on the lead lap at the very end and finished 17th.”
