Recap:
With the start of the 2021 NTT INDYCAR Series season creeping closer, Scott McLaughlin used the final INDYCAR iRacing Challenge event at virtual Sebring International Raceway as a tune up by taking the checkered flag in the No. 2 PPG Chevrolet.
The 26-lap event came down to a battle between McLaughlin and Alex Palou in a similar fashion to the ending of the season opener in Montreal. This time it was McLaughlin with the power move for the lead with only a handful of laps remaining.
Will Power had a strong run going in the No. 12 Verizon Chevrolet before fading a bit late in the race to finish 10th. Simon Pagenaud made slight contact with a tire barrier early in the event in Turn 3, eventually resulting in a 13th-place finish.
The green flag will drop on the 2021 NTT INDYCAR Series on April 18 at the beautiful Barber Motorsports Park just outside Birmingham, Alabama where Team Penske drivers have won seven of the 10 races contested.
