Fast Facts:

• Last year at Iowa Speedway, Castroneves started second and led 59 laps before a spin exiting pit lane after his first stop put him five laps down. He finished in eighth place. 
• Two weeks ago, Castroneves started and finished second in Texas after leading a race-high 85 laps.  He has now finished in the top-five in every race this season and is the only driver in the Series to accomplish this feat.  He has also started in the top five in six of the seven races to date. 
• Castroneves is currently in second place in the Championship point standings with 249 points, 35 points behind Series leader Scott Dixon. 
• Castroneves is the IndyCar Series leader in career pole positions with 23; more than double that of any active driver.
• Castroneves has won at least one race every year since 2000. He has earned 18 victories in eight seasons with the Team.
• Castroneves has finished in the top-five in 57 of the 102 (56%) races he’s run since joining the IndyCar Series full-time in 2002 including Miami, St. Petersburg, Japan, Kansas, Indianapolis, Milwaukee and Texas in 2008; he’s finished in the top-10 in 79 out of 102 races (77%). 
• In 2002, Castroneves scored his second consecutive Indianapolis 500 victory and at age 27, became the youngest driver in history to win the Indianapolis 500 twice and the only driver to win the race in his first two starts.

• Team Penske has earned 25 of its 135 Indy car race wins (19%) on tracks that are a distance of one mile or shorter, including a victory at Milwaukee earlier this season. 
• Team Penske has won five of the last 10 and eight of the last 23 IndyCar Series events on short ovals.

• Helio Castroneves has earned three of his 18 career wins (18%) and nine of his 30 career poles (30%) on tracks that are one mile or shorter.

Castroneves on the Iowa Corn Indy 250:

“Iowa is a great track that was designed to allow for some exciting racing. It's really fast because we can run flat out all the way around and with the high banking, we can run side-by-side anywhere on the circuit.

"In our debut at the track in 2007, the cool weather caught us by surprise and created additional downforce on the cars, which made it more challenging to pass. Hopefully, this year, the weather will cooperate and we’ll be able to put on the best show possible for the fans.”
