Firestone Indy 200 Fast Facts:

• Briscoe will be making his third start at Nashville Superspeedway; in his first two appearances Briscoe earned two top-ten finishes.
• Last week in Watkins Glen, Briscoe earned his second career IndyCar Series pole and the first for Team Penske this season; and led a race-high 37 laps. Unfortunately, he was caught up in an incident when the No. 9 car (Scott Dixon) spun in front of him during a caution period on lap 49, which forced him into the pits to repair damage to his front wing.  The Team Penske crew repaired the car and got Briscoe back on the track on the lead lap for a 12th place finish.
• Earlier this season in Milwaukee, Briscoe earned his first IndyCar Series victory and Penske Racing's historic 300th win, after starting 11th and leading twice for a total of 36 laps. 
• In the 29 IndyCar Series events Briscoe has driven to date, he’s earned one win (Milwaukee – 2008), two poles (Watkins Glen – 2008; Sonoma – 2005), four top-five finishes (Watkins Glen – 2006; Indianapolis – 2007; Milwaukee and Texas - 2008), eleven top-ten finishes and started in the top-ten fourteen times.

Penske Racing at Nashville Superspeedway:

•  In their twelve starts at Nashville Superspeedway, Team Penske has earned six top-three finishes including a win by former driver Gil de Ferran in 2003, which marked the Team’s first victory at an IndyCar Series night race.
• The Team has earned three second-place finishes (Hornish Jr. in ’05 and ’04; de Ferran in ’02), and two third place finishes (Castroneves in ’04 and ’03).

Did You Know?

• Last weekend Briscoe earned his second career IndyCar Series pole and Team Penske’s fourth consecutive pole at Watkins Glen (Castroneves started from the pole in each of the three previous IndyCar Series races in ‘05, ‘06 and ‘07). 
• In addition, last weekend marked just the second time in Briscoe's career that he’s led the most laps in an IndyCar Series race (Briscoe led 37 laps at The Glen).

“Nashville is one of the few circuits where I’ve actually raced twice – it was the site of my best finish in 2005, and I’ve been lucky enough to finish in the top-ten on both occasions. It’s a very challenging circuit, but maybe the concrete has a positive effect on me.”
