Statement from Roger S. Penske and Penske Racing on the passing of legendary actor and longtime racer and team owner Paul Newman:

“Unfortunately, we’ve lost a great man. Paul Newman was not only one of the best actors of our time, he was a tremendous competitor, a dedicated philanthropist and just a wonderful human being. He also happened to be one heck of a race car driver and a terrific team owner. Our race teams have certainly enjoyed competing against his great teams over the years. His passion for racing and for people, along with his generosity, was truly remarkable and his spirit will be sorely missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Joanne and the entire Newman family.”
